The ideals of Psi Chi Mu were taught to Flossie by her three elder sisters. Our founders agreed that to honor Ruby, Dahlia, and Tamarin Hartman our  sorority's gemstone, flower and mascot would forever pay homage to the three women whose  ideals our sorority were founded on.

A Ruby is believed to be a protector stone, protecting it's wearer from the dangers in the world. It is also said to foster self-love, giving it's wearer the courage to tackle any obstacle that stands in their way.

The Dahlia flower grows in North America, and comes in a variety of different colors. Although, pink was chosen for the color is most commonly associated with love and compassion. The Dahlia also symbolizes a bond that will last forever. A perfect flower to represent our sisterhood.

The Emperor Tamarin, native to the rain forests of South America is a peculiar looking monkey. With it's distinctive white mustache, mostly grey fur with specs of gold throughout, feet, hands and a head that are black, with a red tail. The founders thought the randomness of the monkey's appearance perfectly represented their friendship. Being a species that is led by it's eldest female member The Emperor Tamarin is the perfect mascot for

Psi Chi Mu.
